Across the country, COVID-19 has disrupted networks for care and systems for survival.
HIPS received a 15% cut to our needle exchange and overdose prevention programs for 2021
– in the middle of a pandemic and spike in overdoses.
Your donation today will be put into action immediately, providing meals, non-judgmental harm reduction services, community engagement, and advocacy for folks in street economies at a time it's needed most.
We envision a world where all people engaged in sexual exchange and drug usecan use their power to live healthy and self-determined lives free from stigma, violence, criminalization or oppression.

Help Harry support HIPS
HIPS is on the frontlines of health equity, racial justice, LGBTQ equality, and anti-oppression in DC. Since 1993, we've promoted the health, rights and dignities of people on the streets of Washington, DC--working directly with sex workers and drug users by providing them with the services they need to survive, be it safer sex supplies or a place to do laundry; In addition, HIPS is the most comprehensive organization serving homeless LGBTQ individuals in Washington DC. I joined the board this year and could not be prouder to help serve this critical institution in the District.
We believe that those engaged in sex work, sex trade, and drug use should be able to live healthy, self-determined, and self-sufficient lives free from stigma, violence, criminalization or oppression. We achieve this through engaging sex workers, drug users and our communities in challenging structural barriers to health, safety, and prosperity.
In an era when healthcare for all is at risk and of increased policing in our cities, HIPS is standing arm and arm with our clients to provide them with stigma free and low barrier services that affirm their human rights. Donate now to stand with them too.
