Please join us on November 19 for the grand opening celebration of HIPS new Center for Health and Achievement.
HIPS new Center for Health & Achievement hosts a new model of harm reduction service provision designed to help individuals in street economies -- including sex workers, drug users and individuals form the transgender community achieve their goals and improve their health! The center offers a co-located model, where harm reduction, drop in, medical, drug treatment, case management and mental health services all work together to help build positive health and life outcomes for our city's most marginalized.
Building of the Center for Health and Achievement was a community-led event, with over 167 individuals donating from $10 to $10,000 and the generous support of private and public funders including The Washington AIDS Partnership, DC Department of Health HIV/AIDS Hepatitis STD and TB Administration, The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, Brother Help Thyself and others. HIPS raised over $175,000 to complete the build out in just eight short months.
Come check out the new space and hear about our new programming, most of all, let's celebrate community supported and community led harm reduction services in our nation's capital!
