March First Friday

The goal of our First Friday program is to engage local service providers on different topics concerning prevention services. HIPS was given the task of having First Friday sessions around the effects, direction, and accomplishments of current Harm Reduction and Prevention services.


March's First Friday session will focus on two themes:

    1. ADAP is the AIDS Drug Assistance Program here in DC it provides or pays for  HIV/AIDS related drug prescriptions to uninsured or underinsured individuals living with HIV/AIDS here in the District of Columbia.  ADAP representatives will come in and present to participants of First Friday information on but not limited to:

  •    Eligibility Requirements
  •    Health Insurance Assistance Program
  •    ADAP Pharmacy Directory
  •    HIV/AIDS Drugs that ADAP will cover and Co-Payment and Reimbursement Policy for ADAP Client that fall under the income requirement.

   2. DC Care is one if the agency that is fund by ADAP to update and teach community direct service providers about the changes that the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

    DC Care Presenters will cover:

  •     Eligibility Requirements
  •     What Health Insurance Individual should be applying for based on income and pre-existing health issues
  •     The affects the ACA has on HIV related health care in any
  •      Walk all First Friday Participants through the enrollment process.
